Like virtually the entire Taka, the well-planned and air-conditioned saloon is a great place to relax between dives. Fish ID books litter the library section for your reference pleasure, and a large, flat-panel TV provides movie entertainment. A computer workstation allows guests to check out their photographic catch of the day or, for those who insist on up-to-the-second blog updates, Taka even offers an internet connection.
The expansive dive deck features ample kit-up space with personal storage for every guest diver, 4 toilets and 4 hot showers, cutting down on waiting for your post-dive rinse. Then head to the sundeck for a tan, the bar for a black-and-tan or the restaurant to refuel your body for the next dive. The steel-hulled Taka caters for snorkellers, certified and introductory divers, bringing them to the easy-going dive sites of the Cairns Outer Barrier Reef.
Liveaboard trips to the Great Barrier Reef on Taka may be booked only within the 3 months prior to the departure date.

Taka provides liveaboard comfort with 15 cabins across 4 categories. The Master Stateroom cabin, Deluxe twin and double en-suite cabins are located on the upper deck where windows let in natural light, while the Standard twin cabins and Quad cabins are located on the lower deck, lit with cabin lighting.
If you have a bit more to spend on holiday, you can opt for the Master Stateroom featuring en-suite facilities, a queen size bed, a separate lounge area and an entertainment centre with TV and Playstation 2. At twice the size of the standard rooms, the Master Stateroom is also the most spacious cabin onboard.
The Deluxe double and twin en-suite cabins have a double bottom bunk with a single bunk over the top each, and as such are suitable for couples, 2 singles or even for a group of 3. They have a small lounge and are equipped with a TV and DVD player for relaxing after a great day's diving.
Last but not least, the Standard twin share cabins and the Quad cabins are located on the lower deck. These are not en-suite but the shared facilities are located on the main deck. The Standard cabins have a single set of bunk beds and can accommodate 2 people, while the Quad cabins have 2 sets of bunk beds.

"Staff was Professional, Had my safety and best interests in mind, & humorous & realistic.
Check in was easy & very through. Boat was adequate and clean. Food was excellent & plentiful. Diving was as good as expected that time of the year. Door to door service with pickup and drop-off." - John Neneman, USA ...
"Everything was organised to satisfaction, no serious hick-ups to report. Equipment was all fine. Crew was friendly, relaxed. The underwater video and photos shown every evening was nice. One snafu was that during the second part of the trip (North Coral Sea) the weather was a bit rough and we couldn't go to Osprey Reef until a day later than planned." - Peter Klaver, Netherlands ...
"The trip was well organized and very comfortable. We never had the feeling we were rushed though it was a tight schedule for all the dives to be made. The dives were excellent and they took safety serious." - Sonja Noort, Netherlands ...
"They were extremely well organized, very friendly, and very accommodating for the whole family. Many of the little details, like bins for equipment, and bungee cords on hooks for the tanks were all convenient and well thought out. The bunks were really spacious, which was a treat. It was great having an underwater photographer as part of the team. That way I didn't have to explain to my wife why I didn't get very many good pictures myself, we just let Ben do all the work." - William Monteleone, USA ...
"Good crew and food. Dive part of the boat (access, room, etc.) is great. Had a stateroom and it could have been more comfortable for the price. Some key points: bed wasn't made when we boarded, no pickup\dropoff service unless you are in town (all other boats do this), last day of the trip felt rushed so they could return to port and get ready for the next load of people. Overall good, however some improvement is needed for the price." - Gary Moser, USA ...
