Launched in April 2008, the 57 metre Dewi Nusantara, formerly known as Paradise Dancer, is the largest of the Raja Ampat liveaboards, a magnificent 3-masted, motorised wooden schooner, perfectly suited to Indonesia diving safaris.

The immediate benefit of her size are the en-suite Deluxe cabins spanning an incredible 54 m², substantially larger than the industry standard. The Master & Commander Suite is a whopping 142 m², equipped with a double bed, sofa and table and chairs, reminiscent of the captain's cabins from an era past.
Choosing Dewi Nusantara as your Raja Ampat diving liveaboard means choosing a full-board setup with plenty of food to fuel your diving expeditions, to be enjoyed in the spacious and dedicated air-conditioned restaurant or at the out-door dining area whilst enjoying top-side scenery.
Diving is effortless thanks to a large dive deck for preparation and 2 powerful dinghies to ferry you to the exact point of entry, maximising time at each site. Nitrox is available on board to extend your bottom time and a computer with CD burner will ensure your diving memories live on in video or photo long after you diving voyage to Raja Ampat.
From October to March, liveaboard diving in Raja Ampat with Dewi Nusantara is the main event. Outside of these months the focus shifts elsewhere. Mostly Dewi Nusantara visits the Komodo dive sites but also Banda and Alor.

Dewi Nusantara is fitted with 8 Staterooms on the lower deck as well as a large Master & Commander suite on the main deck.

"Dewi Nusantara is a great boat - huge, spacious and in excellent condition. Very stable regardless of the weather. It is run extremely efficiently - a very well organised operation with no chaos and every issue anticipated. The staff were fabulous all round. The food can be a little repetitive but this is understandable since they do all their shopping in Sorong - a real challenge, I would imagine.
My only slight criticism would be that our guide was extremely focused on pleasing photographers, sometimes to the detriment of others. I dived without a camera for more than 50% of the dives after my housing flooded, and was largely left to fend for myself in finding critters (despite staying close to the guide).
