How to get there: MV Panunee departs from Tarakan pier. Tarakan airport is accessible from Jakarta airport (CGK), Surabaya (SUB), Balikpapan (BPN), Denpasar-Bali (DPS) or can also be accessed by ferry from Tawau in Sabah, Malaysia (need pre-arranged visa). The most common route is Singapore to Balikpapan to Tarakan with Silk Air and Mandala Air.
This means leaving Singapore on Tuesday afternoon and returning to Singapore the following Tuesday evening.
